ELAF Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Hantoush Inc., a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada, which operates ELAF ("ELAF", "we", "us") for the ELAF Arabic learning service, at elaf.ca and in the ELAF application. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.
Who may hold an account
You must be at least 18 years old and be the parent or legal guardian of every learner you add. A child may not create an account. You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by your children, and for keeping your sign-in details private.
You confirm that you have the authority to agree to these terms and to the collection of your children's information described in our Privacy Policy.
What ELAF provides
ELAF gives your children guided Arabic learning activities, including conversation with an artificial intelligence tutor, together with progress reporting for you. ELAF is a learning aid. We do not promise any particular educational outcome, score or level of fluency.
Content and features change as ELAF develops. We may add, alter or remove parts of the service.
Subscriptions and payment
- ELAF is sold as a subscription, billed monthly or annually as you choose at checkout.
- The price, currency and billing period shown at checkout are the ones that apply to you. Prices are shown before you pay.
- A subscription covers a set number of learners. Additional learners are charged at a reduced rate, shown at checkout before you confirm.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. ELAF never receives or stores your card details.
- Where a free trial is offered, its length is shown at checkout. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and the first payment is taken automatically.
Renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price then in effect for your plan, until you cancel.
- You may cancel at any time. Open the billing portal from your ELAF account, which takes you to Stripe, our payment provider, where you can cancel. You can also email hisham@elaf.ca and we will cancel it for you.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and your children keep access until then.
- We do not refund the unused part of a period that has already begun, except where the law requires it.
- If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend access until payment succeeds.
Adding learners during a period
You may add learners to an active subscription. The additional cost is shown to you before you confirm, and is charged through Stripe on the same subscription.
Price changes
We may change prices. Any change applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you by email before it takes effect. If you do not accept a new price, cancel before that renewal.
Artificial intelligence in the service
ELAF's conversations and some lesson material are generated by artificial intelligence. Generated content can occasionally be wrong or unsuitable despite the controls we apply. Review what your children see, and tell us at hisham@elaf.ca if something is wrong so we can correct it.
Voice interaction and AI learning require your consent, given during registration. You may withdraw either at any time, which stops the feature it covers.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your account, or let anyone outside your household use it
- Copy, resell, republish or redistribute ELAF's content
- Attempt to access ELAF's systems, other accounts or its data without permission
- Interfere with the service, or use it to break the law
- Use automated means to extract content from the service
- Upload a photograph of anyone other than yourself or a child in your care
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why where we are able to.
Ownership
ELAF and its content, including lessons, characters, audio, images, and software, belong to ELAF and its licensors. Your subscription gives your household permission to use them for your own learning, and nothing more. Progress records and anything your child produces during learning remain yours; you may ask for a copy or for deletion as set out in the Privacy Policy.
Availability
We aim to keep ELAF running, and we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will tell subscribers by email and refund the unused part of any period paid in advance.
Ending your account
You may close your account at any time by emailing hisham@elaf.ca. Closing it cancels your subscription at the end of the paid period and deletes your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to by law.
Our responsibility
ELAF is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will update the date at the top, and where a change is significant we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use ELAF after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, and this does not remove any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
